I still remember now wild demons jumping over precious tapes with my own songs, my golden hits. It was the time between 1979 and 1983. And in fact this was under the order of the Central Comity of the Bulgarian Communist Party /BCP/. Escaping to the West was a serious crime. It led to imprisonment and nobody was supposed to listen to the music made by runaways.
After 2 000 concerts at practically every possible town and village of Bulgaria and a just few weeks before the dramatic escape of my family to the USA, the BCP took the decision to honor my music achievements with their live long government prize – “Musician of the year - 1983”
In the mean time the state company of “BALKANTON” issued more than 120 000 albums, named “Drawings”- a selection of the finest love songs duets, made in the country between the years 1978 – 1983. And they sold, all of them.
May by a lot of people in Bulgaria will readily sing along with most of the songs, which happen to be the music they grew up with and the lyrics that was in their hearts at moments of joy, personal happiness and intimacy.
Just take a look at the shelves. You may still find up there some of my albums. And they are going to remind you how we did than our love songs, what do they looked like and why after all this years you they are played quite often in concerts, on the radio and the television.
Now lets see what did the new technologies do to this brand name music and how it sounds to the new generation coming behind us. I hope you will be surprised to find out how contemporary this music actually is and how many people will turn back heads just to make sure they are not walking in some.

“Back and forward in my life , back and forward with my songs. God, it was a disaster to pool out every note and every word out of my head by the time this second album came to an end. Some of the songs in there are my favorites. It took me five years to complete this project. At some points I was ready to quite this job, but friends of mine came to my door to say I was doing fine. So I came out of my business after 5-6 years of wild efforts to establish a brand new product on the market and I got involved with the music again. Yes, I would like to be with you again in time of joy and in time of trouble. I would like us to be together when trying to reshape the rules and kill the boredom in our lives. I would like my song to be small pieces of freedom – for me and for you!

“Who else has gathered all the strength then to live and sing like them.? The music and the lyrics in “It’s a Heard Love” have the same character like his own – deep, gentle, heavy, ironic, and easy to remember. He was the one rubbing shoulder with the shabby cowboys and their beauties at the dark corners of the suspicious bars. He spent years and years with the crazy guys from the country branch.. Maybe this is why his songs made my feet so jumpy and my heart went so much heavy. And then – the other way! And it is nice we have him to sing and tell stories like them. Everything is true!
